Moped Rider Brandished Facsimile Gun In New London, Police Say
A man is facing charges after police received reports that he was displaying a gun Monday night.
NEW LONDON, CT — A man is facing charges after police said he brandished a facsimile gun while riding a moped in New London.
Police responded to a report of a person displaying a gun while riding a moped in the area of Union Street and Governor Winthrop Boulevard at 8:23 p.m. Monday.
Following an investigation, police caught the suspect, Carlos Santana-Mateo, 19, of New London. Police recovered a facsimile gun when he was arrested.

Santana-Mateo was charged with breach of peace and carrying a facsimile firearm.
