Music in the Meadows to be Held at New London College Friday

Local bands from the area and more will make this a must-attend event.

NEW LONDON, CT- Local bands, outdoor weather and good vibes will all come together to make a great concert experience this weekend.

“Music in the Meadows” will be held Friday at Connecticut College, featuring live music at the outdoor Arboretum theater overlooking a pond. Attendees can bring their own lawn chairs and blankets and contribute to the casual, almost festival vibe while under the stars.

This year’s concert boasts a lineup of local bands from the region, according to the event website. These include the horn-infused rock/funk/soul of The Franklin Brothers; Americana/roots rock stalwarts The Rivergods; and the incredible harmony-rich folk of the Carleans.

The event is not free, but certainly reasonably priced. $10‌ for adults ($8 in advance) and $5 for children under 12 years. Arboretum members meanwhile get one free ticket if they have registered one week in advance.

Munchie’s food truck will also be on hand for hungry music-lovers. Those in attendance are also encouraged to B.Y.O.P., or bring your own picnic (as well as insect repellent).
