Naval Sub Base Training Coming Up In New London

NEW LONDON, CT — This week, June 5-9, 2023, and next week, June 12-16, 2023, the Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASE) and its Naval Security Force will participate in Exercise “Citadel Protect,” and conduct various training evolutions and drills along the base’s waterfront.

Training occurring throughout the two week period will include live automatic weapons firing with blanks. The regularly-scheduled, Navy-wide exercise, “Citadel Protect,” will continue SUBASE efforts to enhance the readiness of base Naval Security Forces to respond to threats to the base and its homeported submarines.
