New London Art Gallery To Hold Celebration Of Collapsed Church

'A Church With Heart In The Heart Of The City' this month will be 'a celebration of the life of a beloved landmark and our community.'

NEW LONDON, CT — A local art gallery is hosting a celebration of the life of First Congregation Church. The Union Street landmark collapsed last month.

Studio Art & Frame Gallery posted the following:

"Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery presents "A Church With Heart In The Heart Of The City", a celebration of the life of a beloved landmark and our community in the city of New London, CT. Exhibit opens Valentine's Day, 14 Feb 2024. Art featuring images of First Congregational Church. Photography by Michael Congdon and Aaron Smith, Paintings by John McGuire, Alexey Moore, Charles Reyburn, Robert J. Hauschild, and Maurene Kennedy, Found Object Art by Kern Bruce. A donation will be made to Engaging Heaven Church from the proceeds of sales in the exhibit.A fixture of downtown New London, CT, supporting local artists, artisans, and authors, since 1979.
