New London Beach Lands On Best-In-Country List

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London beach has landed on a best-in-the-country list from Travel + Leisure magazine. Ocean Beach Park is one of 25 beaches on the list.

Here's what they had to say about the New London beach: "This half-mile, golden-sand beach with gentle tides provides great views of ferries and schooners sailing past the New London lighthouse. Ocean Beach Park, located along the boardwalk, features a picnic area, playground, snack bar, mini-golf, an arcade, and more."

Travel + Leisure said that they selected the best beaches for "their attractions, location, or unique amenities."

Other beaches on this list included Poipu Beach in Kauai, Hawaii and Coney Island in Brooklyn.
