New London Church's Tax-Exempt Status Revoked: Report
A Montauk Avenue church has had its tax relief status revoked, according to a report.

NEW LONDON, CT — A Montauk Avenue church has had its tax relief status revoked, according to The New London Day. Igreja Evangelica Avivamento da Fe, a Portuguese-speaking church, purchased the property in 2011, but reportedly did not file the M-3 report the city requires for most non-taxable properties.
Its non-taxable status was revoked in January 2022. A city official said the status was revoked because the church stopped using the building for religious purposes, a claim the church denies.
