New London Election 2016 Results: Winners Revealed in Local Races

NEW LONDON, CT — Results are coming in for a number of electoral races across the board in New London, both on a local and national scale.
On the ballot, registered voters in New London were able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator and state representative.

In New London, Republican candidate Paul M. Formica declared victory over Democratic candidate Ryan Henowitz in the race for 20th Senatorial District, as reported by the Norwich Bulletin. Formica has been Chairman of the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments, where he chaired the regional rail committee and served on the regional water committee.

In the 39th State House District, Democratic candidate Chris Soto was able to easily win out over Green Party candidate Ronna Stuller and Petitioning Candidate Andrew Lockwood, as reported by The Day. Soto reportedly earned more votes than both opposing candidates combined.
In the 41st State House District, Democratic candidate Joe de la Cruz ousted Republican incumbent Aundre Bumgardner, as reported by The Day.
