New London High School Grows Food Using Lights Seized in Drug Bust
Items seized for illegal purposes may now be repurposed for education.

NEW LONDON, CT – Lights seized during a drug bust that were used to grow marijuana are now being used to grow food for New London High School, as reported by The Day.
Police reached out to the Statewide Narcotics Task Force after a large bust and asked if the thousands of dollars worth of lights could be donated to the school, according to The Day. After six months and a lot of paperwork, the lights were approved to be given to the school.
Parties involved do not believe such a deal has been made in New London or surrounding areas before, The Day reported. Police will continue to check back to see if any other seized items could be used by the school instead of being destroyed.
