New London Hospital Awaits Decision on Yale-New Haven Affiliation
The hearings have ended, and now the hospital awaits a decision.
NEW LONDON, CT – Significant concerns were raised Tuesday by lawmakers about the proposed affiliation between Lawrence + Memorial Healthcare and the Yale-New Haven Health System, as reported by The Day.
More than six hours of testimony were heard by State regulators, according to The Day. A spokesman for Lawrence + Memorial said the hearings have now ended and the hospital will await decisions to be made.
The hospital needed Federal Trade Commission approval to affiliate with Yale, which expires on Sept. 8, according to The Day. Regulators, meanwhile, have the options of either approving, denying or approving the affiliation with conditions.
