New London Man Charged In Gold Star Bridge Crash That Injured Trooper
A man is facing charges in a September accident that led to a four-car crash and a state trooper being seriously injured.

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London man has been charged in a Gold Star Bridge accident that left a state trooper seriously injured and led to a four-car crash last year, according to state police.
Billy Ray Goff, 26, was charged with endangering a highway worker, reckless driving, following too closely, failure to slow down and move over leading to injury of an emergency operator, distracted driving, and second-degree assault.
He turned himself in Monday morning at State Police Troop E in Montville. His bond was set at $50,000.

A state police sergeant was working at a construction site Sept. 7 on I-95 North when Goff struck the cruiser, state police said. This caused two other cars to crash into each other.
This led to two other injuries including one person who had to extricate from a vehicle with the jaws of life.
