New London Man Charged With Gun, Drug Crimes: Police
The man was held on a combined $525,000 bond, according to police.
NEW LONDON, CT — A man was arrested on gun and drug charges in New London on Monday, according to police.
Police responded to a report of drug activity involving a vehicle at 5:02 p.m.
Police approached the vehicle and a man, later identified as Cevon Riley, 25, exited the vehicle and ran. Police followed on foot.

While running away, Riley discarded a bag of drugs, according to police. Police, with the assistance of a K-9 officer, then found Riley in the woods.
Police said when he was taken into custody, they found Riley had a loaded 9 mm gun with a high-capacity magazine and laser sights.

The drugs in the bag were 1.3 ounces of crack cocaine, according to police.
Riley was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, interfering with police/resisting arrest, first-degree criminal trespass, and breach of peace.
He also had two warrants out for his arrest for failure to appear in court.
He was held on a total of $525,000 cash/surety bonds. He was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
