New London Man Charged With Home Invasion, Assault

NEW LONDON, CT — A city man is facing multiple charges connected with an attack against two people, The New London Day reported. Melvin Hooks Jr., 34, of 148 Montauk Ave., Apt. 3, was charged with home invasion, third-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, second-degree strangulation, risk of injury to a minor, two counts of third-degree assault, two counts of disorderly conduct and interfering with a 911 call.

Hooks is accused of attacking a man and woman who accused him of stealing July 14. The victims sustained minor injuries in the attack, according to The New London Day.

He was held on $150,000 bond.
