New London Man Faces 39 Counts Of Criminal Mischief: Police

The man is accused of slicing car tires with a knife.

NEW LONDON, CT — A man was charged for slicing car tires with a knife last week, according to police. James Castro-Campos, 39, was charged with 39 counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

Police responded to a call Thursday at 9:49 p.m. reporting that a man was slicing car tires with a knife. Witnesses provided a detailed description and a photo of the man to officers.

Police found the man at a business on Broad Street. Castro-Campos had two knives in his possession, one with a black rubber-like substance on the blade, according to police.

The knives were seized as evidence and Castro-Campos was charged.
