New London Man Possessed Stolen Gun: Police

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London man has been charged with possessing a stolen gun, according to police. Cameron Yard, 23, of 35 Truman St., was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a stolen firearm, and weapons in a motor vehicle.

Police were on a quality of life patrol to address "illicit activity and recent violent crimes" Wednesday morning in the area of Truman Street and Bank Street when they arrested Yard.

During the investigation, police said they found Yard had a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun which had been reported stolen.
