New London Man Tased While Resisting Arrest: Groton Police
A man was arrested on a warrant Friday in Groton. A police officer tased him following a struggle.
GROTON, CT — Police tased a man who was resisting arrest, according to police.
An officer on patrol Friday at 3:53 p.m. recognized Xavier Goode-Sutton, of New London, in the area of 425 Bridge St. The Connecticut Office of Adult Probation had an active arrest warrant for Goode-Sutton for violation of probation.
The officer approached Goode-Sutton and shouted commands that Goode-Sutton did not comply with, police said. The officer made contact with Goode-Sutton and said there was a warrant out for his arrest.

However, Goode-Sutton resisted and a struggle began, according to police. Goode-Sutton used a Taser "which immobilized Goode-Sutton and allowed the officer to place him under arrest," police said.
A New London woman who was with Goode-Sutton interfered with officers during the arrest. She was taken into custody and charged with interfering with an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Goode-Sutton was transported to L&M Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was released from the hospital and transported to Groton Police Headquarters. He was charged with violation of probation, interfering with an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a combined $65,000 cash or surety bond and scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.
