New London Man Threatens Malloy: State Police

Ronald Harger allegedly sent threatening letters to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

After an approximate two-month long investigation, New London resident Ronald Harger, 61, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Breach of Peace
  • First-Degree Harassment

Harger allegedly sent letters of a threatening nature to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, the Hartford Courant reported.

Initially assigned a $25,000 bail, a judge increased it to $50,000 due to what she called a “significant mental health history.”

The judge reportedly preferred Harger remain in jail until a place specializing in mental health issues was found.
