New London Murder Suspect Enters Guilty Plea Before Trial in Superior Court
A man charged with murdering his roommate in their New London apartment has entered a plea of guilty on the eve of trial.

NEW LONDON, CT – A man charged with murdering his roommate entered a plea of guilty Tuesday on the eve of his trial, The Day reported.
Sebastian Tzampop, 32, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge before going to trial in Superior Court, according to The Day. He thus accepted a recommended sentence of up to 12 years in prison and five years of special parole.
Tzampop was charged with murdering his roommate, 39-year old Antonio Chajon, on Christmas Day 2013 in their New London apartment, The Day reported. His plea under the Alfred Doctrine means he does not agree with the charges but does not wish to risk a harsher sentence at trial.
