NEW LONDON, CT — A New London nursing home was among seven in Connecticut recently charged with violations by the state Department of Public Health, as reported by Connecticut Health-I-Team.

C-HIT reported that Harbor Village North Health and Rehabilitation Center was fined $3,000 for four violations. Two of these instances occurred Aug. 1 when one resident was allegedly given the wrong medication and another was given a long-acting insulin instead of a fast-acting one.

In June, facility officials allegedly failed to lock a medicine cart in one instance, according to C-HIT. In October, officials were directed to decrease a resident's medication dosage, but instead allegedly stopped administering the medication altogether.
