New London Police: 9 Establishments Fail Tobacco Compliance Inspection
Police completed 30 unannounced tobacco compliance inspections recently and found that 9 establishments were not compliant.
NEW LONDON, CT — Police completed 30 unannounced tobacco compliance inspections recently and found that 9 establishments were not compliant. The inspections occurred Dec. 14 between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Police along with state officials completed the inspections to determine compliance with state laws concerning the prohibition of the sale of e-cigarettes and/or tobacco products to youth under the age of 21.
The following retailers were issued infractions:

Sam’s Food Store – 268 Bank St.
Green Leaf Farms- 24 Lincoln Ave.
H&T Mini Mart – 1 Ocean Ave.
Sam’s Food Store - 485 Ocean Ave.
Town and Country Liquors – 455 Montauk Ave.
Citgo – 197 Colman St.
Sully’s Mobil – 382 Vauxhall St.
Adam’s Market / Citgo – 447 Williams St.
Super Fiesta Market – 83 Mountain Ave.
Police said the offending clerks at these establishments were issued a first time infraction of $300.

Tobacco retailers are licensed by the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS). Non-compliant inspection results are referred to the DRS for possible administrative action.
