An outside legal investigator is conducting the investigation, officials said. While Wright is on administrative leave, Passero has appointed, Retired Deputy Chief of the Hartford Police Department, Neville A. Brooks as interim Superintendent of Police.

He will assume the role of the head administrative officer of the New London Police Department during this investigation. Passero, in a news release, said he remains confident in Wright’s leadership of the Police Department.
