New London Police Department Hires New Officer

NEW LONDON, CT — The New London Police Department is pleased to introduce our newest member of the department, Police Officer candidate Nicholas de la Cruz!

Police Officer candidate Nicholas de la Cruz was sworn in today, 5/12/2023, at City Hall. He is a certified lateral Police Officer candidate.

Police Officer candidate Nicholas de la Cruz is 34 years old and a native of Groton, CT. He previously served six years at Groton Town Police Department. Prior to coming to NLPD, Nicholas de la Cruz worked at Electric Boat in Groton, CT. He will start his training on Monday, 5/15/2023. His training will be approx. 10-12 weeks and will consist of subject matter and topic areas to ensure his successful transition to becoming a New London Police Officer.
