New London Police ID Body Of Man Found In Cemetery

NEW LONDON, CT — Police have identified a man whose body was found in the woods near Cedar Grove Cemetery last month, according to a police Facebook post. John “Sean” Lazenby's body was found May 5.

"Our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Lazenby," police wrote. "In an effort to provide closure to the family, the New London Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the death of Mr. John 'Sean' Lazenby to contact the NLPD Detective Bureau at 860-447-1481 or anonymous information may be submitted via the New London Tips 411 system."

Lazenby's last known address was in Westerly, RI, but he frequently came to the Norwich-New London area as he has family in both towns, according to The New London Day. Lazenby was a father of three and had worked as a certified nursing assistant at healthcare facilities.

Investigation into his death remains active, and a cause of death has not been determined.
