New London Police Officer Accused In Domestic Violence Case: Police
An officer who was previously charged in a domestic violence case is accused of violating a protective order, police said.
NEW LONDON, CT — A New London police officer previously arrested in a domestic violence case is facing new charges, according to police.
Julio Gil-Martinez, 28, of New London, was first arrested in November. He is currently on administrative leave from the department.
At the time he was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, and interfering with an emergency call.

Gil-Martinez was arrested again Thursday.
Police received a call at 11:11 p.m. reporting a female victim of a domestic violence incident at a New London home.

Police said the victim had a protective order against Gil-Martinez.
He was charged with disorderly conduct, violation of a protective order, first-degree unlawful restraint, and second-degree criminal mischief.
Gil-Martinez was held on $100,000 cash-surety bond. He was scheduled for arraignment in New London Superior Court on Friday.
