New London Police Respond to Possible Domestic Violence Incident on CT College Campus

The situation resulted in police response and one arrest.

NEW LONDON, CT – Police responded to a domestic violence incident Sunday at Connecticut College after receiving reports of an intoxicated man and woman arguing.

Police said on Facebook they received a call from a concerned Connecticut College student reporting a female screaming for help and a male yelling and banging around in a residence hall. Officers were immediately dispatched to the location.

Officers located an intoxicated female, 22, and an intoxicated male student, 20. The two were subsequently identified as active participants involved in an incident of domestic violence, police said.

Both became hostile with officers during contact and escalated to aggressive.The identity of both the two suspects has not been release by police.

Connecticut College student Lee Messier, 21, later began to interfere and was directed several times not to interfere and keep his distance by officers. The third suspect continued continued to interfere and escalated the situation, which was already hazardous, and was arrested as a result.
