New London Police To Start 'Operation Quiet Down'
The initiative will seek to reduce noise pollution.

NEW LONDON, CT — The New London Police Department is starting “Operation Quiet-Down” with the purpose of reducing exaggerated noise levels throughout the city, according to a statement from police.
The department will designate days and times during which concentrated efforts will be made to achieve this goal.
"We want everyone to be able to enjoy our extraordinary City and everything it has to offer," police said in a statement. "Everyone should be able to enjoy New London without noise that interferes with everyday life. Exaggerated noise levels have been a longstanding quality of life and health issue, and we want to be proactive in addressing it.

"There will be ongoing exploration of addition methods to assist in curbing noise pollution. Officers will be actively patrolling for vehicles/motorcycles which create excessive noise and identifying any violations that provide a legal means by which to stop the offending vehicle."
