New London Public Schools Hosting Community Meal

New London Public Schools will host a community meal to benefit those affected by Hurricane Maria.

NEW LONDON, CT - New London Public Schools will host a community meal to benefit those affected by Hurricane Maria. The event will include food, music, prizes and more.

The event will take place Wednesday, November 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School, according to the New London Public Schools website.

The menu for the evening features items such as arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), pernil (roast pork), ensalada de papa (potato salad) and flan. Guests are encouraged to bring their own utensils.

The meal costs $5, and donations for "our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico" will be collected at the door. All proceeds will go to La Olla Común in Puerto Rico.
