A man was charged after police say he accidentally fired a round from a rifle.
NEW LONDON, CT — A resident accidentally fired a round from a rifle that went through an apartment and into a common hallway in New London, according to police.
Police responded at 8:10 p.m. Sunday to a call reporting a shot fired at 221 Howard St.
Police arrived and found a bullet hole through a wall in a common hallway of the apartment building.

No one was injured.
An investigation found that the gunshot was accidental.

The resident was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Bond was set at $5,000.
