New London School Superintendent Predicts Budget Gap

New information concerning the schools budget surfaced this week.

NEW LONDON, CT - The New London School Superintendent gave new information concerning the schools budget on Wednesday, The Day reported.

Manuel J. Rivera predicted a $3.3 million budget gap for the upcoming school year, according to The Day. The district is currently operating with a $64.4 million budget.

About one-third of the current budget is funded from city coffers, The Day reported. Due mainly to a significant cut in state grant funds to the district, however, it is slightly less than what the district spent the previous year.
