New London Schools Receive Large Grant, FInalize Chefs in School Program

Each new chef will be a school employee and be paid a $60,000 salary.

NEW LONDON, CT – The school district announced Monday it has received a large grant that will go towards finalizing a “Chefs in Schools” program, The Day reported.

The district received a $100,000 grant from Target Stores, and will use the money to finalize a partnership with the Brigaid organization, according to The Day. The move will bring a new “Chefs in Schools” program to New London schools.

The program will have chefs present in the school kitchens on a daily basis, The Day reported. Each new chef will be a school employee and be paid a $60,000 salary.
