New London Shooting Investigated: PD
A man was shot and two businesses and vehicles were damaged during the incident, police said.
NEW LONDON, CT — A man was shot and multiple vehicles and buildings were hit by gunfire in the area of Ocean Avenue and Bank Street early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Gunshots and possible fleeing suspects were reported shortly after 3 a.m.
A man who matched the description of one of the fleeing people fled into a wooded area, but was located with the help of a Montville Police K-9 unit, police said. The man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.

Numerous shell casings were located in the area of the shooting, and two vehicles and two businesses were damaged by gunfire. A firearm was also recovered. The shooting doesn't appear to be a random act, police said.
