New London Starts School Year with Changes
Students in New London are saying goodbye to summer and headed back to school on Monday.

The New London school district will welcome a new year with a financial boost and a new superintendent.
The school district had chosen Terrance Carter, an educator from Chicago, for the position of superintendent. However, the New London Board of Education found that Carter did not have the credentials he claimed and had filed for bankruptcy twice in the last 15 years. Carter’s appointment has been on hold while the Board of Education conducts its investigation, which will end this week.
The spokesman for Lesley University, where Carter was earning his Ph.D., told The Day on Monday that Carter does not hold a degree from the university.
