New London Strongmen Will Face Off In Sunday Competiton

A premiere event on Sunday will allow the area’s brawniest guys to pit their strength against one another in a variety of challenges.

“Whaling City’s Strongest Man” was originally to take place at the Custom House Pier in , but the event has been moved to . It will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday and include competitors from local and regional gyms. The event was organized by the Breakfast Club Gym and .

Joe Mugovero, an organizer of the competition, said the challenges will include a farmer's walk, Atlas stone and log lifts, and a medley of pulling and carrying weights. The competition is divided up into different classes, including men 40 and up, two teen classes, and a women’s competition.
