New London Student Graduates McDaniel College, Receives Award
A New London student graduated from McDaniel College over the weekend and also received a senior award.

WESTMINSTER, MD — Kylah Sade Chadwick of New London graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from McDaniel College on May 19. Chadwick also earned Honors in Social Work.
According to a news release, select graduating seniors also received academic, activity and leadership awards at the Senior Investiture and Honors Convocation on May 18. Chadwick was the recipient of the Elizabeth Lintz Burkhardt Memorial Service Award (student who has demonstrated exceptional and persistent giving of time and service to others within the college and the community at large).
McDaniel College awarded more than 600 undergraduate and graduate degrees during the 148th commencement ceremony on May 19. Commencement speaker was McDaniel College Professor Emeritus Francis "Skip" Fennell, mathematics education expert and advisor for the Emmy award-winning PBS shows "Peg + CAT" and "Odd Squad."

The graduates hailed from 22 states, plus the District of Columbia, and 17 countries.
Academic honors given at graduation include summa cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or higher, magna cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 to 3.89 and cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to 3.69.
