New London To Wait On State Budget Before Moving On Petition

New London officials said the city will wait on the state budget before taking action on a budget petition.

NEW LONDON, CT - New London officials said the city will wait on the state budget before taking action on a budget petition, the New London Day reported. The City Council is hoping for an 11th-hour boost in state revenue for the city to come from said budget.

The City Council voted Monday to send proposed budget repeal ordinances to its Finance Committee, according to the New London Day. It is unlikely to be put into action until the state finalizes its budget, however. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

State legislators could vote sometime later this month on a state budget, the New London Day reported.
