New London Woman Killed In Virginia Wrong-Way Crash

A New London woman is dead and a man was seriously injured following a wreck on I-95 in Virginia, according to reports.

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a car crash on I-95 in Virginia Tuesday night, according to NBC 29. The wreck was reported at 9 p.m. in Greensville.

Police were pursuing a 2018 BMW that refused to stop, according to NBC 29. The car made a U-turn and began traveling south in the northbound lanes, striking a 2011 Lincoln head on.

The driver of Lincoln was a 36-year-old New London man. He was transported to a local hospital then flown to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The passenger in the car was Melissa Dorsett, 36, of New London, who died at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, Ricardo Bernard, 30, of Richmond, VA, suffered serious injuries. An unidentified female passenger was also killed, WFSB 3-TV reported.
