New London Woman Sentenced For Role In Fatal Crash

A New London woman accused of speeding away from cops while drunk has been sentenced.

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London woman was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison in connection with a fatal 2024 crash, according to court records.

Amber Lahue, 25, pleaded no contest to a charge of second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle. She also faces five years of probation.

Lahue was accused of speeding away from a traffic stop in Ledyard before crashing and killing her backseat passenger, police said.

Her blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit at the time of the February 2024 accident.

The passenger killed in the accident was Aaron Baldwin, 27, a New London father of two. He worked as a line cook at the Mystic Marriott, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
