Richard J. Grahn Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the New London museum.

At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Coast Guard Museum Association Inc. on March 4, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Board approved changes to the officers and directors of the Museum Association.

Effective immediately, Richard J. Grahn assumes the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, Senator Cathy Cook will serve as Secretary, and Susan Curtin has been elected to the Board of Directors. The remaining officers will retain their positions and James J. Coleman, Jr. continues to serve as Chairman and John S. Johnson as Treasurer.

Mr. Grahn assumes his new position following a distinguished legal career in Boston, where he also served as his law firm’s Managing Partner. In commenting on the Board action, Mr. Grahn said that the rapid progress of the Museum project has reached a point where additional executive leadership is required to achieve the next level of success. “I am passionate about building a world-class National Coast Guard Museum in New London worthy of the United States Coast Guard and the city in which it is to be built, and I am honoured to have been entrusted with this important leadership role,” stated Dick Grahn.
