New School Board President Elected In New London: Report

The New London Board of Education has elected its new president.

NEW LONDON, CT — On Thursday, the New London Board of Education elected former school Superintendent Manuel Rivera as its new president, taking over the position from former school board President Mirna Martinez, the New London Day reported.

According to the New London Day, Rivera retired as superintendent in 2017 after leading the school district for nearly three years. He won the presidency in a 4-2 vote. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
