Norwich Man Charged In Connection With New London Homicide: PD

Zachary Perkins, 33, of Norwich, was charged with 2nd-degree manslaughter in the death of Brad Bucacci, 38, of New London in June, cops say.

NEW LONDON, CT — A 33-year-old Norwich man has been charged in connection with the death of a 38-year-old New London man last June, according to police.

In early June 2021, New London police went to a report of a man not breathing on Chester Street. Brad Bucacci of New London was pronounced dead, police said.

During the investigation, Zachary Perkins of Norwich "made admissions that he assaulted the victim and delayed calling 911 emergency services," according to New London police Capt. M. Galante.

Galante said that the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as blunt injury of the neck and the manner of death as homicide.

A warrant was obtained, Galante said, and Perkins was arrested Wednesday with the help of the Norwich Police Department.
