John "Jack" Joseph Egan Jr., 94, formerly of Pacific St., New London, died on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Fairview Convalescent Odd Fellows Home in Groton.
Born April 18, 1922, in New Haven, he was the son of the late John Joseph Egan Sr. and the late Elizabeth (Minor) Egan.

A graduate of Commercial High School in New Haven, he was a retired bread delivery man for Nissen Bread Co. Jack was a Navy veteran of World War II and a former member of the New London Lodge of Elks, Knights of Columbus Council 17 and the American Legion. An avid golfer, Jack made three holes in one over the years.
Mr. Egan was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Norris) Egan; daughter, Patricia Mauro; and a brother, Eugene Egan.

He is survived by two granddaughters, Trisha and Samanthia Mauro; and three great-grandchildren, Nya Mauro, Carter and Charlee Jenkins.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Joseph Church, Squire Street, New London. Interment will be private.
