Obituary: ​Michael (Mike) P. Jullarine, 80, of New London

Michael (Mike) P. Jullarine, 80, entered into eternal peace surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 25, 2016.

Mike was born in New London, CT on April 9, 1936, the son of the late Philip and Mary (Zito) Jullarine. He was a life-long resident of New London and attended local schools. Mike was a United States Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Grand Canyon. He was formerly employed by the City of New London and retired after 28 years of service.

After retirement, Mike worked for several more years as a custodian for Salem Public Schools, St. Mary Star of the Sea School, and Williams School in New London. He was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mike is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Theresa (Grillo) Jullarine. He is also survived by a daughter, Michele Anzalone, and her husband, Scott; daughter, Lisa Garton, and her husband John, sisters-in-law, Toni Grillo and Ann Fincher, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Philip Jullarine, and sister, Theresa Bliven.

Mike truly enjoyed his life and loved to help his family, friends and neighbors with their various projects. He loved to watch all sports, particularly his beloved New York Yankees and New York Giants. He will be greatly missed by all. Mike's family sends a special thank you to the caregivers at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, the Hemodialysis Unit at L&M, and Bayview Health Care for their kind, compassionate and loving care during the past few years.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London. There will be a mass of Christian burial at 12 noon on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, New London.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Mike's honor to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church Building Fund, 10 Huntington St., New London, CT 06320 or St. Joseph Church Building Fund, 37 Squire St., New London, CT 06320 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
