Over 125 Underage Patrons Found In New London Bar: Police

Police said officers documented over 125 underage patrons in a New London bar and confiscated numerous fake ID's.

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said officers documented over 125 underage patrons in a New London bar Thursday night. The discovery was made as officers assisted State of Connecticut Liquor Control personnel with spot checks of bars and cafes throughout the city in an effort to combat underage drinking, police said.

Police said Octane, located on Tilley Street, was found to be in violation of numerous liquor establishment laws. Underage patrons were located by officers both inside the bar and on its outdoor patio, according to a release.

Police said numerous fake ID's were confiscated from underage college students, and several more were found on the floor and patio.

The commission is still investigating the situation and will follow up with potential fines, license suspensions and other administrative sanctions, according to police.

The police department and commission will continue conducting random spot checks of the city's bars and cafes throughout the holiday season, police said.
