Heather Nault is a painter that emphasizes on realism. The genre of realism is a representation in art or literature of objects, actions, or social conditions as they actually are, without idealization or presentation in abstract form. At a very early age she had a great interest in art. “When I would go to the library I would buy a lot of horse books and I would draw horses in the books instead of read them” said Heather.
As she moved on to Adrian C. Wilcox High School she fine-tuned her gift in art class. “My art teacher was a former ballet dancer and she would inspire me. She was a free thinker and she would play classical music in class. It helped put you in a certain mood when you were trying to be creative. When I graduated she gave me her ballet slippers to remember her” said Heather. She continued her career as a framer at an art store called Aaron Brothers Art Mart. While she was there she was introduced to surrealism Painter Michael Parks. Parks through his work helped motivate Heather to fine tune her gift even more.
Throughout the years she has improved and gotten better to the point that her paintings express deep emotion through high contrast realistic undertones. Her art has been featured in many art shows but it’s her passion that drives her.

“Painting/drawing has always been my Zen, my comforting world. As I am creating a life on paper or canvas I feel every little detail that I put in. Every line, every brush stroke ( adding paint to my art work) is an extension of me being in the happiest moments especially when I know that what I just added was meant to be there and is a permanent part of what makes me happy . It has been my escape” Heather also added in regards to what she had learned in her art journey and that is to “Never doubt yourself.” Her paintings will be featured at the The La Grua Center on May 9th from 5-7 PM http://lagruacenter.org/
