Pit Bull Attacks Woman And Her Dog: New London Police
BREAKING: Police say the woman was trying to protect her dog from the pit bull. The victim's dog was also injured, police said.

NEW LONDON, CT — A woman was bitten by a pit bull while protecting her dog, New London police said. At 6:58 a.m. Sunday On Sunday morning, the New London Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call for a Hillside Road resident bitten by a dog while attempting to protect her dog from an attack by another dog, police said.
Upon arrival, police and fire personnel found a female victim with a serious dog bite to her hand that she sustained from a neighborhood dog that ran onto her property, police said. The victim was subsequently transported to L+M Hospital for medical care. The victim’s dog was also injured and required immediate emergency care, police said.
Police said the offending dog was an 8 year-old male Pitbull terrier. The dog escaped from its owner, Paul Morneau of Ocean Avenue while on leash during a walk, police said.

Morneau’s dog was impounded by the New London Animal Control Officer (ACO) at the New London Animal Control facility and remains in quarantine with charges pending, police said. The case remains under investigation.
