Police Dismantle Drug Trafficking Ring in New London and Norwich

Narcotics-related seizures took place on Colman Street in New London and Orchard Street in Norwich.

A months-long investigation into the sale of crack cocaine and powder cocaine in the New London and Norwich area culminated Friday, July 10, with the arrest of three people on assorted narcotics charges.

Narcotics-related search and seizure warrants for 115 Colman St. in New London and 11 Orchard Street in Norwich were executed by detectives from the Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East Field Office, Norwich Police Department and the New London Police Department.

A New London and Norwich location allegedly used for the storage, processing and distribution of narcotics within New London County were searched.

“As a result of the search of the aforementioned residences, a total of 13 grams of crack cocaine, another 13 grams of powder cocaine, two grams of heroin, and over $2,100 in cash was seized, as well as numerous items associated with the processing of those items for sale,” according to New London Deputy Chief Peter Reichard.

The search warrants were the result of a several month investigation conducted by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East Field Office (SNTF/E), which consists of members of the State Police, Norwich Police Department, Groton City Police Department, Groton Town Police Department, Waterford Police Department, New London Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration.
