Police are asking for help with identifying the good Samaritans who helped rescue an injured person during the fatal fiery crash last Friday
NEW LONDON, CT — New London Police are asking for help with identifying the good Samaritans who helped rescue an injured person during the fatal fiery crash on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge last Friday.
A tanker truck and car collided on the bridge on I-95 South in Groton on April 21, resulting in an “enormous firestorm, injured passengers, and a fatality,” according to New London Police Chief Brian M. Wright.
“The selfless and heroic acts by the involved individuals to rescue an injured person from a vehicle was remarkable,” Wright wrote in an email. “I’m looking to identify the individuals who assisted our officer, Lt. Rodgers, so I may personally thank them and bestow upon them a measure of appreciation from the New London Police Department. Please advise if you are aware of who they may be and/or their contact information. Thank you in advance.”
