Police Seize 820 Bags of Heroin From New London Apartment

Two men were arrested on a number of charges, including operating a drug factory.

Police allegedly found heroin in plain sight when they visited 48 Granite St., Apt. 6, on Sunday, May 3. They were attempting to locate Jevon Walker, as there was a warrant for his arrest, on felony and misdemeanor charges.

Upon arrival, Troop E Uncasville and New London police found Jevon Walke and took him into custody.

Jevon Walker allegedly gave conflicting accounts as to who was in the apartment with him. Officers conducted a sweep of the apartment and found Maurice Walker hiding in a bedroom closet.

Police said a bag of marijuana and approximately 820 bags of heroin were found in the closet.

The residence was secured and a search and seizure warrant applied for and granted.

Police seized:

  • Approximately 820 bags of heroin
  • 1 gram of crack cocaine
  • 23 grams of marijuana
  • $2,123

Jevon Walker, 39, of 48 Granite St., Apt. 6, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession with intent to sell
  • Distribution of controlled substances less than 1,500-feet from a school
  • Illegal possession of narcotics
  • Possession of less than 1/2 ounce of cannabis

Maurice Walker, 38, of 48 Granite St., Apt. 6,mwas arrested on the following charges:

  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession with intent to sell
  • Distribution of controlled substances less than 1,500-feet from a school
  • Illegal possession of narcotics
  • Possession of a controlled substance: hallucinogenic/4 ounces of marijuana

Both men were processed at Troop E, where they were held on bond with a May 4 scheduled arraignment date. The Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East was on scene and assisted in the investigation.
