Northeastern University Professor Receives 2016 Outstanding Teacher Award

Lucas Landherr, Ph.D., Associate Teaching Professor at Northeastern University’s College of Engineering, received the 2016 Outstanding Teacher Award from the Northeast section of the American Society for Engineering (ASEE).

This award is given to an individual who demonstrates exceptional performance in the classroom and recognizes the work of engineering teachers and incentivizes them to continue to make significant contributions to teaching.

At the end of April, the Preston native was honored during the ASEE Annual Awards Banquet Program being held at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

In addition to his work in the classroom, Dr. Landherr has authored science comic books as a way to help students grasp challenging engineering concepts and performed a stand-up comedy production during the University’s Chemical Engineering Day.

“Working with students to help them gain confidence and understanding is both personally and professionally rewarding and I am truly honored to be recognized for my efforts in chemical engineering education,” said Landherr.
