NEW LONDON –February 8, 2017 – Author and leading advocate for the environment in the nation’s capital, Dr. Robert K. Musil will share his insights in a talk titled “Rachel Carson and Today’s Environment: What Would She Do?” at Mitchell College’s Speakers Series on Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Weller Center.
Robert K. Musil, Ph.D., M.P.H, President and CEO of the Rachel Carson Council, will discuss what Rachel Carson, America’s greatest modern environmentalist and the subject of a recent PBS documentary, would do in the face of current challenges to environmental protection. “Rachel Carson never gave up in the face of attacks on her by polluters and right-wing politicians. She would be leading the outcry today about the elimination of environmental protections and laws being carried out by the new Administration,” said Dr. Musil.
