Red Cross Helps 3 After Fire in New London
Those affected will meet with caseworkers to work on a longer-term recovery plan.

NEW LONDON, CT – The American Red Cross is helping three families after a fire Tuesday on Ocean Avenue in New London.
The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the families’ immediate needs, according to a release. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The organization is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

A recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire was also provided. This includes tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts, dealing with damaged items and more.
Those affected will meet with Red Cross caseworkers in the coming days to work on a longer-term recovery plan.
